Buttermilk Pancakes With Orange Glaze

A lazy Sunday morning and a trip to the store lead to this week’s pancakes. Admittedly, I’m running out of ideas and flavors, week in and week out. Regardless of the flavor, though, I still enjoy making pancakes. The whole process is cathartic to me and I enjoy every bit of it.

Glazes are a big hit so I decided to make the orange glaze from my orange cinnamon sweet roll pancakes. It’s pretty simple to make. Take about a cup of powdered sugar and add about a tablespoon of orange juice and mix it up. I then add a little bit of orange zest to finish it off.

I just used the basic Huddy’s Hotcakes recipe for the pancakes and added a half of an orange zest to the batter. A pretty simple creation that packs some great orange flavor on a humid day.

Let me know if you have any pancake recipes or flavors you would like to see and I’ll be sure to make them at your request. Tell me about your favorite pancake memory and I’ll recreate them for you.
